First look at the material: the color of a good PVC pipe is uniform milky white or light gray, the surface is smooth like the inner wall of ceramics, there are no black spots and impurities, and there is no pungent plastic smell (mostly recycled materials). Touch it with your hands, high-quality pipes have no burrs and feel "moist"; inferior pipes are either rough and prickly, or the color is yellow and dark, like old plastic.

Then measure the wall thickness: The wall thickness determines the pressure resistance and durability. The national standard has clear requirements - for example, the wall thickness of the DN50 (diameter 50mm) pipe is at least 2.0mm, and the wall thickness of the DN110 (diameter 110mm) pipe is 3.2mm (according to GB/T 5836.1-2018). Use the vernier caliper to measure different positions (both ends, middle). If the wall thickness is suddenly thin, or the actual wall thickness of the DN110 is only 2.8mm, it will definitely not meet the national standard.

Finally check the national standard: the regular pipe has a clear logo, including GB/T 5836.1-2018 standard number, manufacturer, specification, production date, etc. You can check the certificate or scan the traceability code. Don't buy it if there is no logo/the logo is vague.

Don't be greedy for cheap - although high-quality pipes are expensive for ten or eight yuan, they can last for twenty or thirty years, which is much lower than the cost of smashing walls and changing pipes in the later stage.
