GB50332 - 2002 "Code for Design of Pipeline Structure for Water Supply and Drainage Engineering" is a national standard approved and issued by the Ministry of Construction of the People's Republic of China, which has been officially implemented since March 1, 2003. The formulation of this specification aims to fully implement the national technical and economic policies in the field of pipeline structure design for water supply and drainage engineering, and achieve the goals of advanced technology, reasonable economy, safe application and quality assurance. This specification is applicable to the structural design of general water supply and drainage engineering pipelines in urban public facilities and industrial enterprises. However, it should be noted that the structural design of water supply and drainage engineering pipelines with special requirements in industrial enterprises is not within the scope of application of this specification.

GB50332-2002 is a revision and refinement of the content of the relevant pipeline structure in the original "Code for Structural Design of Water Supply and Drainage Engineering" GBJ69-84. With the continuous emergence of new materials and new processes in China in the 1990s, such as various chemical pipes (UPVC pipes, FRP, PE pipes, etc.) and prestressed concrete cylinder pipes (PCCP), etc., it is particularly necessary to separate the pipeline structure content from the original specifications and compile separate specifications. This not only facilitates the application of engineering and technical personnel in practical work, but also facilitates the subsequent revision and update of the specifications, and is more coordinated with the international engineering construction standards and specifications system.
